2006 Sirius installation problem

Please help!

I have a 2006 X3 without Nav. and with Sat. Prep. I just purchased the Sirius Receiver and installation kit. I installed everything except for the antenna wire. The receiver has only one input for an antenna, while the car has two antenna plugs, a blue one and a white one. What am I suppose to do?

The plug on your receiver should be brown (BMW calls it "Curry"). Remove the blue plug coming from the antenna in the vehicle and replace it with the Curry colored plug that should have been in your kit. There is a red tab you have to pull up to get the plug released. After you swap the plugs, the antenna will plug right in.

If you didn't get the plug in your kit, go back to the dealer and tell them. I checked my kit before I left the parts counter to be sure it was there.

Did you also complete the connection on the back of the head unit in the dash?

HTH.

Scott is right on the money. My kit came with the curry colored plug as well but I have been told by my friend at Chattanooga BMW that not all kits had them. Call your dealer if you don't have one. Did you get the instruction / install sheet with your kit? It details the curry plug as well. Good luck.

My kit did not have the curry connector, but I was able to buy it from my parts department for about $4 if I recall (I did not buy myu Sirius install kit from them, so I did not mind paying).

When taking off the blue connector, use it as a guide for how to put the curry one on. There is a little red tab that has to be pulled up out of the blue connector (I used the tip of a pcoketknife to get under the red tab with no problem). You then can slide the metal connector out. Slide it into the new curry connector, pop in the red tab (be sure it's already removed from the curry connector), and you're done.
