IPOD Kit Question...
Didn't know where to post this, but I'm wondering how much it would cost to have bmw put in the ipod kit if you where to purchase through them?
I really want to have my ipod displayed on the nav screen. And I am open for options if anyone has any other way of doing this. |
Check the home page under Stereo. Everything is right there.

Read up on DICE and chat with Tom @ EAS, he will hook you right up

Don't know which iPod you have, but my G3 hardly works with the BMW/Apple setup. Lots of background noise, not entirely "in sync" with the head unit, etc. At first, BMW thought it was the cord--$75 to replace. Instead, I got an iPod video, and it works better. Disclaimer--BMW says it only works with the iPod Mini and newer. Last time I took it in, they told me BMW had a "freeze" on iPod installs due to complications.
I've heard great things about the DICE system--I would look into that. I installed an aftermarket product in a 2004 Audi S4 and it works better than the BMW/Apple setup. It was $120 and took me 1 hour to install seamlessly through the glove box. Check out your options before throwing $275 at BMW, or whatever they charge now. |

I do hear that the dice kit is better in terms of features though. |

- text display on the NAV Screen or Business CD radio - text is not disabled on the iPod - iPod Clickwheel remains unlocked - Integrated AUX port for other devices - Upgradeable as new features are released or bugs are discovered Both the BMW kit and the DICE offer the same core functions such as steering wheel control, charging and CD sound. For the money - the DICE is a better buy. |
