Got my car Today.

I got my car today, it supposed to be brand new but there is 98km on it. Is this normal? I bought few cars before, they are all around 20-25km only. Please advice.

Hmmmmm.... 60 miles on my brand new car would definitely cause me to wonder why. What did the dealer say?

He said it is normal and give me some excuses which I think just a bullshit. He then gave me a pair of chrome tailpipe and cargo compartment mat to settle my complaint.

Mine had exactly 9 miles when I signed the paper work, and I put 5 of those miles on there. I walked into their warehouse, picked the one I wanted (which was still wrapped from shipment) and drove it back to the lot where they took it, cleaned it and put just a few miles on it. The mileage seems excessive to me, but if the freebies made up for it, then call it good. Personally, if the answer didn't satisfy, I would expect more (especially during that all important enging break in stage).

Chrome tailpipe?! Give it back to him with a jar of vaseline and tell him where to put it..60 miles on a brand new vehicle is unacceptable...I would say 15 max...

I mean, I wouldnt be weary, or skeptical that something may be wrong with the car, in fact, I would probably say it was for a very simple reason..But dont sell it to me brand new, dammit!

Seriously, since I can almost bet that there is a simple explanation, I would hold them to the fire for some serious blackmail activity for this one...You are in a very good situation imo...Theres GOTTA be some accessory(ies) you want, NO?!?! hehehehe :genius:

What was the $$$ tag on your X3? I only had 7 miles on mine when I first bought mine and they gave me a whole mess of goodies to go with it!

Unfortunately I did not get the chrome tailpipe.

I ordered my X3, when I picked it up from the dealer it had 6 miles on it. Mileage will vary a little, but that seems excessive to me. Maybe new, but how many test drives? I agree, I'd be nervous about that many miles of unknown driving conditions during the break-in period. I'd get them to throw in the extended warranty + maintenence plans (around $2400 total I think) which would cover your car to 100k miles or 6 years. I think you have a pretty good basis for that request.

That is too much mileage on a new car. The last new car I picked up (a 2002 330i) had 34 km on it (21 miles).

I got ripped twice then. First ordered black and they swtich me to silver with more options. Then got the silver but with 98km on it. I think I will have a trip to the dealership again and yell again

"THEY" switched "YOU"?! How does THAT work?...50 grand for a car, no one tells me what color Im getting...The whole thing seems a bit strange if you ask me...Are you happy with the X anyway?
