Nice job, davidr! How's about posting some pix of your X3? I see the running boards. Any other mods performed?

and here is a possible screen (if I am not wrong):

the screen ratio of that screen does not seem to be 16:9

it looks 4:3 or almost 1:1

ok guys need a bit of help, i have all of the bits for a nav retrofit sitting here in front of me. what i need to know is what do i need to ask the dealer to CODE, also can this be coded before the car has the nav in it or do i need to do this after i put the nav in,

also what does the coding do????

I contacted the BMQ Dealer here on the Gold Coast re the additions.

He advised me that I would have to Purchase the Australian Street Maps DVD at approx $500 and have it coded to the car.

Not sure what the coding does.

He also advised that the 2007 X3 is pre wired for the Sat Nav so you may find you may not have to use the supplied wiring harness.

What Year do you have???

Let us know how you go with your install as I am still waiting for mine to arrive in Brisbane its still on a ship in fact the last time I checked it was in Baltimore USA and not due to arrive until the 6th May

my car was built in Oct 2006 so i dont think the wiring will be there....

as for the coding i might go to the dealer and see what needs to be done.....but i dont think it has anything to do with the disc

I just bought a Plenio 7" GPS from Costco online for 414.00 express delivery included. It'll fit right in the little sunglass cubby on the dash perfectly. It's portable so I can also take it in the motorhome as well. Seems like the easiest way to GPS your car for a very reasonable price. You can see it as Costco.com. Search GPS or Plenio. Cheers
