Glad to hear they found the problem. I hope there was a Technical Service Bullitin out for that problem so you will be covered. Hopefully you'll get your X3 back very soon!

Its bought 2004/11. Guarantee is two years with unlimited kilometers.

More news today. I was supposed to get the car back today, but no. Service guy said that when they tried to start the engine today, starter motor went broke. It was -24c this morning.

So.. they get a new starter motor for tomorrow, and theyll change that too.

I really hope I get this on guarantee because what they already have done is:
- changed new battery
- chaged new crankshaft sensor
- changed new start motor

I think that the bill would be something like 1000 euros. If they say its not going to guarantee, I'm going to complain because I took the car for service about this same problem a year a go.

Hi Mane!

Sad to hear about your problems, I hope that you'll get the service to guarantee. The service is pretty pricy here in Finland, I have noticed that already...

I have 3.0iA (US model), and car seems to be actually a very nice winter car, at least so far...

Good luck!

I got the car from service for free, but they said they havent got any response from factory or from bmw import company. Lets wait and hope the best.

Its a totally different car now! Engine starts immediately and does not even hesitate. Today it was -24c and no problems.

I agree, its a very good winter car. Nice to leave from traffic lights when everyone else is having trouble to get their car moving and you just go like its summer :)

Glad you're back to normal mane! (the X3 I mean ;) ) And  to that last part! We had a little ice around here a while back and I had no problems getting around. The roads were glazed over with a thin layer of just ice. It was fun watching other people struggle to get going and I saw a Mustang spin out. He didn't hurt anything though.
