Headlight Assembly
Please be kind. OK I did a stupid:banghead: I just replaced my stock low beam bulbs with PIAA. The problem was access. I read the manual, but still managed to shear off the wimpy tab that holds the sealed cover in place:swear: Can I purchase the cover only (for the headlight assembly low beam access)? If so what is the part number & cost? Until then I have used the handy man's secret tool--duck tape.

I don't know if this would work for an X3, but there is a tab replacement kit for the X5 headlights. Take a look at the pictures and see if the X5 tabs are the same.

Low beam cover
Part # 63128381326
Costs about $7.50 |
Thanks, but not my issue. I did find a parts diagram site for all BMW models and found the X3 headlight assembly diagram. I secured the part number and ordered two new covers at $8 per. I thought I would have a costly part, but it is reasonable. If you are interested in the web site for diagrams here it is http://realoem.com/bmw/

2004 X3 headlight part broke
Hi everyone, this is my first post, and I didn't even have to "post" my question.
Found good answers by searching the forum. Thanks!:D My headlamp went out on my '04 X3 3.0i, and my dear husband changed the bulb, but in the process the black plastic cover's thin holder-tab broke off. Was going to see if anyone had this happen & I guess so, since I found the answer here!! Thanks to mhainen for the realOEM website link, I used it & now will see if my local dealer in Greenwood (Indianapolis), IN will order the $12.41 part for me! (It has gone up in price since 2007:() 07LOW BEAM COVER 2 63128381326$12.41 |
