No car will save you if you're an idiot. To damage a car that badly, you must be stupid enough to be operating the vehicle in a manner that would cause the damage in the first place. To the OP: If you can think of a car that WOULDN'T suffer that kind of damage, please let us all know. I really can't think of a car that's much safer than most German cars (Audi, BMW, the likes).

And yes, the Audi pics. The driver walked away unharmed.

I just noticed in the 6th pic down, the police van was also involved. Wonder what the story was behind this one... The Audi one was posted a few months ago...

Um, I don't believe any automaker tests against an @ss going so out of control they split their ride in two.
