I would agree that the M3 Sport steering wheel would be a nice touch. Have you thought about lowering it an inch or two?

It's already got the sport suspension. But I wouldn't mind another inch. I have'nt seen any lowering springs for the x3's. Can I use lowered springs from antoher application? Lmk, thanks -m

Nice ride! by the way does anyone know if the underride guard has to be taken off in order to change engine oil?

You don't have to remove it. I followed Hayaku's oil change write up and though it is written for the X5 it works just as good for the X3.
