In poor weather, you should have low beams on. I noticed this was a problem in Canada, where it was snowing at a decent clip. Although all Canadian vehicles have DRLs on, the drivers neglected to turn on their taillights. It's great that people in front of you can see that you are coming. But the people behind you don't know you're there!

I hate seeing RX330's with their DRLs on but not their low beams!! It really irks me! Are they really that dumb and oblivious?
On the E70, the LED taillights are always on. (unless you deactivate DRL).

Toyota, Lexus, Honda, and Acura are HUGE offenders of this simply because it is easy to forget to turn on the headlights.

These four makers offer electrolumescent gauges, the ones that are constantly backlit on a black background. In addition, there is rarely an indicator on the dash to tell you whether your low beams are on (Honda fudged this up by using the wrong symbol and using the "Canadian system" of indicating headlamps, another long lengthy explanation). Thus in well-lit city driving, it's easy to forget, becuase 1) the instrument panel is lit up and 2) your DRLs are shining at the car in front of you anyway.

The traditional way, which BMW uses for obvious reasons, prevents this. If you drive at night without headlights, then you'll wonder "why the hell can't I see my gauges?" "Oh yea!! My headlights!!"

LOL...saab has the best solution...they're cars have low beam on and taillights on as standard (their version of DRL), and, a green indicator in the guage cluster. The headlamp control, which has selections for full, parking, and off, does absolutely nothing at all when you turn it....:rofl:

All Toyota vehicles built after 2005 include a light sensor (even the Corolla) that will turn on the headlamps after a brief delay when the parking brake is turned off

I dislike how the taillights are turned on, I only like the front lamps on
