X3 noisy turn signal

Hi,

I find the turn signal "clicking" noise a little loud on my 2006 X3 when waiting at a red light, especially when the radio is off. I know, this is personal taste, but on some days, I wouldn't mind having it a little quieter, somewhat like my Honda.

Can this relay be replaced or did someone find a way to isolate the sound a bit ?

Not a big deal, but I thought I might ask, thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Larry

Might want to top off your blinker fluid.

Sorry couldn't resist. The signal in my Honda is much quieter as well, but I've gotten use to/kinda like the sound the X makes FWIW.

At least you won't be one of those people driving around with their blinker on all day.

I think that's the purpose of it being loud. Its supposed to inform the driver. If you're stopped at a redlight, I suggest you turn it off anyway until the signal turns green.

I hate how a lot of American cars have it all silent. I've driven rentals with quiet blinkers, and I'll tell you it's very easy to forget esp. if you're having a conversation or have the radio on.

yeah, I agree, they are really loud, but it dosen't bother me much and I'll get used to it.

Press and hold the music symbol on the radio while pressing and holding all 4 window switches down. With the other hand point your finger at the speedo and click your heals twice. That will keep you busy long enough to figure out you have to much time on your hands. There's always something but I think this is a first.

:banghead: Wrong answer! A blinker is a warning....It makes me crazy when someone ahead of me puts on his left blinker AFTER the light changes and I get stuck behind him.

Rant and hijack over

+++++1 How true, very anoying when that happens. Like the person that turns on the signal when they are already into the turn.

Thank you...

...everyone for your kind input. Oh, by the way Rick, there is always something and, as in every post, there is always "Someone........."

Funny, I never thought it was too loud. Never bothered me at all. In fact, I wish they'd make the ones in Ford pickups louder...
