Hi There:

I have an 07 X3 and require help getting the new master key ($250!! ) programmed to lock and unlock the doors. Ignition works fine but not the locks. Does anyone know the program sequence?

Thanks

The dealership sold you a new key without programming it?

The easy way is drive back to the dealer, smile, hand the key the the service advisor and then ask with a  look on your face "What is this? Some sort of a joke. This key dosen't lock and unlock the doors. ;)

$250 is way overpriced!

try this:
gather ALL keys
get in car unlocked
put key in ignition
turn to position 2 (on) and off five times
take out key
hold roundel (lock) and press the up (unlock) three times

then the car will lock and unlock

then repeat

Thanks folks for the help and advice!

In fairness to the dealer I picked up the key from my salesman without having the X3 present and the salesman said I saved an extra hundred for not programming it (he gave me instructions that did not work!)

I agree $250 is way too much but imagine $350:confused:

I'll try out the suggested programming

Thanks again

Not really. The person is likely quoting in CDN.

Still, if you paid for a new key, they ought to program it FOR you for FREE.

It is CDN but remember we are now at 96 cents so it is still $240 US and I agree with you that the dealer should do it for free!
