Auto-up Window Reverses to soon

When using the auto-up feature of the drivers window, it sometimes encounters enough resistence that it stops and revereses. Is there a way to increase the safety threshold so it will put a little more "oopmh" into the window before reversing? Is the window motor going out? Perhaps I need to lubricate something in the window lift assembly?

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Tried searching the forums but came up empty.

Thanks,
Chip

Define "too soon". Cuz if its your finger that's causing it to auto-reverse, that's normal lol! However, if the anti-trap mechnism is activated for no reason (nothing's in the way), then it's probably some software related stuff that the dealer can fix and/or reprogram.

HA..LOl no, not my finger. :p

Say 4 inches or so from full up, the window slows down like it is encountering resistance. (To much friction with the rubber window seal?) Due to the resistance, the mechanism thinks there is an obstruction and reverses.

It doesn't do it all the time, but enough that it is annoying. When it happenes, I can close the window by raising it without engaging the auto-up feature.

You can use a silicone spray (from Home Depot and the likes) to lubricate window guides.
