Well first off, your '04 325XI was a different type of all wheel drive in that it was constantly running (a ratio of approximately 66% rear to 34% front - or something close to that) so that in essence you were always in four wheel drive - and then if necessary, the DSC could kick in to even out torque, etc. We had a bit of snow and ice this past weekend and this was the first time I was able to get the DSC light to blink at me and it only happened when I made it happen (I typically test the roads to see what the break loose point is so I can know the limits) and still it tracked right where it should have and a release off the go pedal stabilized itself and turned off the DSC. I have all seasons on mine and it seemed to just just nicely.
