ummm flashlight?
 

ummm where is the flashlight? I don't see it in the glovebox. Am I missing something.

light should be in the left corner of the glovebox...I can't remember if it's lower or upper (I think upper) but it's there, plugged in.

Unless it's an 04. They forgot to install the flashlight in the early 04's. SIB 63 01 04 fixed this problem.

Since I'm a newbee, what is SIB 63 01 04.....sorry to ask. It is an 04 X3 made in May of 2004. Plus I'm in the subburbs. Schaumburg

SIB is a service bulletin ..... contact your dealer and they can tell you if your vehicle is covered under that service bulletin........ if so...... you should get a free flashlight.

it's better be......... I love free things from the dealer. I think at the sametime I might have them put in the Ipod too.

Yea, you have to be insistent about the SIB though. They're likely unwilling to just "give away" and install a flashlight for free if it's under warranty. Mine claimed "no such thing existed" and that it was not included, and I didn't feel like arguing.

Yes, I go to Patrick since they are about 1.5 miles from my house.

I didn't get one when I picked up my X3 on Euro Delivery and didn't even know I should have one until someone posted the SIB. Went to the Dealer, SA got one from Parts and I was a happy camper.

Hmmm....Didn't know there was a flashlight. Have never seen it in my 06 X3. Will add it to the list when it take it in for yearly service.

the Flashlight should be in the glove box. Every bmw has one.

Never heard before there was a flashlight and i dont think there is.

just took my 2006 X3 into the dealer today for the annual service check up and when i asked the service rep he said "nope, I have an X3 there is no flashlight...."

???

Ok, I said mine did not have one.... there is a SIB for it. My 2004 x3 now has the flashlight.

Yes :thumbup: Mine has one. RH side of the glovebox (in the UK anyway).

I just find mine this weekend....it's in the left hand side of the glove box, near the top. Didn't realize it was there....and, frankly, not exactly the kind of thing I'd rely on in a time of need (or, worse, that I'd want my wife to have if driving alone). I have a good LED light in the back. While it's a nice little added touch and possibly useful if you're looking for something on the floor of the car while driving at night, it's really not a whole lot of light.

Ours was there in the X5. But we took factory delivery, and there were fewer sticky fingers with access before we got the keys.
