Question about key and vehicle programming
 

Hey everyone. Been busy having some mods done by the local BMW. They have installed the Aerokit II but I haven’t seen yet. Pictures to come. Right now, they are trying to install a UGDO/Compass mirror retrofit on my non-premium X-3 and haven’t figured it out yet. I directed them here and to realoem.com for further information. Hope they can get it.

In the process, they are going to have to reprogram the key and vehicle codes. Here’s my question that I hope someone might know about:
In the manual it states that several features can be custom programmed into the key and I’ve seen the programming options list. But, it also goes on to say that several features can be programmed in the vehicle codes. Has anyone seen a list of these codes? I know one option is to have the clown nose blink/not blink when locked on a non-alarm equipped X3 but I can’t seem to find a list of other options. I’ll post some detailed pics when I pick up my new-look baby!!

If you need info about the retrofit, let me know. I did it in my 05 X3 3.0(non prem pkg) a couple of weekends ago. I'm surprised the dealer doesn't know how to do this. I bought a retrofit harness for an e46 and it worked perfectly.

Thanks for the offer mavic1010. I could use any info you have. I think my dealer might give up. If they do I'd like to do it myself.

Did the dealership ever figure this out??

Well, yes and no. They finally collected all the parts (retro-fit kit, cable for non-premium package, mirror, and did the install. But, they installed the wrong mirror. They put in a UGDO with auto-dim (no compass). The new mirror is on order and I think it will combine all three, UGDO, Compass, Auto-dim. We’ll see…
