Sorry to be a nuisance, but "Audio function is still true as that of the X5 application." I take it the product comes with AUX input connector and I would switch to that then use the pushbutton switch for video and watch my video or if it's just audio the AUX option on the Nav screen would have been it....???

Tom G.

After googling around I now understand the audio will be available through the CD Changer option.

More and More question I have...
I want to get a feeling of the install work ahead of me if you could fill me in a bit.

Does the Audio module plug into the back of the stereo or into the CD Changer connector in the center console?

Does the Video module plug into the rear Sat Nav DVD unit in the back?

Tom G.

Never mind, after more googling I found the install guide.

Now I have to make a tough decision,

The Dietz unit really nice plug and play but no IPOD control from Stereo

or

The Dice + a Video unit such as the TVandNAV2Go unit which i can have IPOD control.

What would you guys pick?

sacx5 11-05-2008 01:52 PM

MikebX3, I would pick the Dice + a Video unit TVandNAV2Go unit, Do know
what it is but sound good to me since you can control IPOD.
OTher MikebX3, could you please send me the link of Dice + Video unit TVandNAV2Go I want to know more than I can install the Backup camera with
my X5 with NAV.

Thanks,

If I go the Dice + TVandNAV2Go route, i will be piecing together the two parts.

You can buy the Dice from Tom G at EAS, LInk:
http://www.europeanautosource.com/in...=67_69_135_170

You will then have to buy the TVandNAV2Go unit from their web site, link:
http://www.tvandnav2go.com/bmw-tv-navigation.html

I'm thinking of just forking over the money and buying the Ditez and Dice since the Ditez is a really nice design plug and play unit with factory connectors...

But still deciding....

Attached is my setup with BMW OEM AUX and GNET Video module. This is more for a CarPC setup than an IPOD setup. It would work the same way. I am currently looking to replace my GNET video module with something with a bit more "meat". I have a BMW OEM video TV module in the E46. The picture looks ok with a standard video input into the module. Typically for a source of video (IPOD or DVD movies) you can get a decent picture. With a computer though its a bit different if you want to be able to get some decent looking menu items on the stock NAV screen.

See my thread here for what I am doing:

Thanks pete_c for the setup info.

I went ahead and ordered the Dietz TV Module from European Auto Source. I won't have control of my ipod through the stereo system but since it's a weekend car for my wife and I, usually both of us are in the car so one of us can control things from the IPOD. I'll see how long before I itch from a Dice module to add on to the setup.

I should be installing it next weekend so i'll post up my install and maybe create a youtube video on the use of it.
