iPod Suggestions

Thanks for everyone's help on suggesting new tires. I purchases the PZero's and have been quite pleased. I am now looking to put in an iPod kit, instead of the goofy FM one I have right now. My 335xi coupe has the 6FL option, which I like quite a bit, it displays song information on the Navi screen, etc.

I want something similar to that for my 05 X3. It has the standard sound system, with factory navigation. I know the old BMW kits weren't the best, and you had to create special playlists and it wouldn't display song title on the screen. This is why I am leaning towards the Dice device, but if they have updated the BMW one I will go with that. Any suggestions on getting a unit that will work like the 6FL + iDrive in my coupe (Dice, BMW, other)?

Thanks!

BMW's kit will not display text, the DICE will be what you need:

This is the kit you need:

DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for X3 04-08 (Trunk/Console Interface)
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=1628

The DICE iPod Kit will integrate perfectly with your BMW and offer steering wheel control as well as ID3 text and charging of your iPod. Full CD Quality can be expected after installation. There's even an integrated AUX port for other devices.

New features of DICE SILVERLINE iPod Integration kit include:

- Direct integrated connection, without the need for FM transmitters or cassette adapters
- Full Text Display on your factory radio or Navigation screen
- Full control of your iPod via the radio buttons while in play
- Browse by Individual Song
- Browse by Individual Playlist
- Browse by Individual Albums
- Source Selector w/ Integrated AUX input
- Album Selection
- Full charging mode for iPods through included dock connector

The kit will come with everything needed w/ the docking cable. The iPod can be safely stored away in the glove compartment for 100% stealth installation and accessed completely from the steering wheel controls. The DICE comes with a 15-foot cable length to reach anywhere in the vehicle you like.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

I have just put this one in my o4 x3 same system as your's non DSP. It's amainzing and I'm very pleased with it.

Displays all songs and artists. Amazing product easy to use.

You can creat up to 5 playlists and then #6 will be every song on your ipod.

I just made my playlists by music type. Rock, Hip Hop, Country ect. love this product.
