Can you retrofit iPod/iPhone kit and Bluetooth to late 2004 X3?

Hi everyone!

My partner and I are looking at possibly buying a late 2004 X3. The car we're looking at already has the navigation system but as far as I know it doesn't have the iPod connectivity, USB thingy or bluetooth kits installed.

Is it possible to add this functionality afterwards? I wouldn't be adverse to getting my hands dirty and installing it all myself if I knew what to get and had instructions on how to install it all.

We both have iPhones and would really like to use them with it if possible.

Thanks for any help in advance!!

Phil

Hi, I am awaiting a module to connect an ipod to my cd player. I found this on ebay. There are various makes. What it does is, it makes the cd player think it has a multiple cd connected. I ll let you know if it works when I get mine!

regards

Performance module chip

hi, I am looking for a performance module chip for my x3 2005. Do they really work? Which is the best make? There are many on Ebay, are they good?

In the end we managed to get an X3 that already had Bluetooth and I bought one of those Silverline DICE kits for the car last week. Was a bit of an ass getting the wires out to fit it but it works pretty well with my iPhone 3G. Unfortunately the Bluetooth is a bit quiet though.

You might need to upgrade your Microphone to the new generation one.
I did a retro bluetooth retro fit on my 2004 X3 and it works a treat. Installing the better mic makes a big difference.

Only $50 but worth it.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and thought I'd attempt an iPhone 3G install in my 2004 X3. I bought a genuine BMW install kit for a 3G iphone that also has bluetooth and an adapter cradle. If you are interested (or know anyone else who might be!) check out my auction on ebay:

If you have any questions at all, please let me know...

Thanks -- TJ
