2 Attachment(s)
I have recieved a browchures from bmw other weeks. And i just had sometime look at them. Man they have many additional accessories avialable for it now, Not sure whether you guys in the US have been promoted with them. But we here in Australia, just been out of the wood I must say. you can go to BMW.com.au click on accessories then select x3 and choose ur accessories
What i am looking at is: The BMW Portable Navigation System Plus (it only for X3), i believe it might just like the NAVMAN or TOMTOM pocket portable devices? Has any one use it or got it? Also this BMW Advanced DVD System, would be good for my daughter who love to watch her favourite show: Pingu and Others. Any advises or suggestion on that? Cheers |
Never mind guys,
Call up bmw parts. The Nav is made by GARMIN = has some wiring too, but the nav unit is portable. looking at $750 + labour. DVD Player they want $8000 + labour (did i hear it wrong NOPE, Eight Thousand Dollars). I think they have to replace the seats with the one has prebuild screen. They claim the screen cost $1000 each (if it broken when you child kick it or u knock it with something). Hehehe too bad $8000 i can put 2 x 50inch plasmas or lcd in my x3 |

The BMW portable Nav is neat idea. Does the wiring integrate with your sound system?
The DVD system in your picture is way over priced! ouch!!! And it takes up some leg room. Kids will tend to kick the back of the seats if the can reach, they'll be driving you crazy kicking and worst will damage the screen when folded down. Have a look at the official BMW Dual Screen DVD/AVI/MPG player I bought. I have been very happy with it and the screen is of the highest quality and sharpness. My kids just love it. Also I got 2 remotes and 2 wireless headphones for viewing difference or same dvd/video on the screens. The feature that I look for in a player is that it can play not only DVDs but also play AVI and MPEG files. You can copy avi and/or mpeg videos on to a USB memory stick and plug it into either of the DVD players and enjoy! Also each screen have and external RCA video and audio input for external players or devices. So I am planning on installing a Wii system into the lower center console compartment and hook up to the external Video/Audi ports. Both kids can play their educational Wii games.
