Just purchased a europlate and I was wondering where I can get a front lincense plate holder (not frame) I have that all ready.

Thanks, Niko

I haev a feeling you're going to be doing some serious mods on your X3. Looking at your sig, you ask the question "what else can I do?". Well, I see wheels in your future and maybe the OEM BMW aero kit. How about some Euro clears? Oh and there is a new M Sport steering wheel for the new style sport steering wheel. I'll stop for now so you can take some time to figure out how to sell your spare kidney to pay for it all. :D

Seeing you were born in '88 makes me feel very old. :tsk:

That's what I was talking about. I think the only way to do that is to buy the European headlights that do not have any amber in them. Be prepared to pay dearly. Check eBay.

I have tried several "xenon-like" bulbs on other cars. I would say that PIAA's are very white but burn out very quickly and cost way too much. I am currently using a set of Hoen Xenon Match foglight bulbs on my X5. They are a very good match with the X5's xenon headlights. Cost was very reasonable and you can buy from Hoen directly. Check out their site. You should be able to find bulbs for both your headlights and your fogs.

Hoen

So a 2005 X5 would use H11? How easy is it to replace these bulbs? How would you compare the appearance and performance of these bulbs with stock?

I like them quite a bit. The match is very good for a halogen and the price was very reasonable, unlike PIAA's that were the previous best match for our X5's. Performance is excellent. I have tried using the fogs alone on a very dark road and they light well. Longevity is yet to be determined. Installation was easy; much easier than replacing a front turn signal bulb.

Here is a picture showing the xenon headlights and one Hoen foglight bulb and one OEM bulb. The difference is clear.

drex 11-13-2005 08:59 PM
