07 X3 problem
 

My wife has an 07 X3 and yesterday, the car started to overheat which eventually led to the car stalling. After towing it to BMW, we found out that the water pump went out then the thermostat....Crazy, the car only has 30k miles. Can't imagine why they would both go out at the same time.....

If you have the N52 engine the waterpump is electric. They don't usually go out mechanically, but electronically... and when they do they just don't pump. As for the thermostat, when it is overheated the electronic part of it gets messed up and can jam. Always a good idea to replace it after a bad overheating.
