Has anyone tried brake dust shields?

I know there's an issue with excessive brake dust accumulation. Just wondering if anyone's tried wheel dust covers (Kleen Wheel - for example), and if so, do they work well? Is it worth it? What brand's the best?

Forget 'em. Reduces cooling considerably, looks like shit, potential rotor warp...a minivan accessory that no one needs, imo.

Use Zaino or Wheel Wax on your wheels and remember that the dust is an effect of monster brakes...or, go to an aftermkt pad.

yep.

although it keeps rims clean short term, it does heat the pads and rotors (causing premature brake pad wear) as well as rotor warp.

and you can't see your nice brakes underneath!

the best thing to do is clean the rims really well and use wax or wheel wax on the rims; the brake dust then rinses right off!

Thanks for the advice, guys!

you're welcome.

they are tempting, but i think long term the risks outweight the benefits.

My dealer service advisor said exactly the same thing to me the other day. We were talking about brake dust, and mentioned that they have had to do several repairs secondary to rotor warp, from Kleen Wheels.

Thanks. I have had Kleen wheels on for about 6 months... i think i will remove them...

I am very happy with my Axxis Deluxe pads that have eliminated dust without a noticeable loss in performance.
