Possible Purchase: Feedback Needed Please

Hi everyone--I'm seriously considering the following vehicle and your thoughts on price would be greatly appreciated:

2007 X5 3.0si 44,500 miles. NO CPO.

Black on black leather with:

Premium
Cold weather
Heated steering wheel
Business CD with aux input

No xenons, no navi, no PDC, no rear side airbags, no sport, 17" wheels. The interior is a 9.5/10 and so is the exterior. 1 owner car, BMW floor mats (all weather & regular), all tools in the cargo area, 100% complete car.

It drives great, but I'm going to have my independent BMW shop take a look at it. I think the brakes are about 50%, tires are good buy Kumho Ecstas, and I think it needs a brake fluid flush/bleed.

Otherwise, it's a fantastic example and has everything I'm looking for.

Asking price at dealer is $25,000.

Thoughts on price? I think it's priced pretty close--maybe $2000 off is reasonable?

2007 or 2008 are the year to get, the ride was much smoothed out over earlier versions.

Premium and cold weather package are both good options to have. We also have the heated steering wheel on our X3, but it doesn't get as warm as other BMW wheels we have had (X5, Z4, 535). No xenons is a negative, I like them. Nav is a waste of time IMO, you can do better with an aftermarket unit if you tend to get lost frequently. I like the PDC option on our X3. It is a positive not to have the sport option; you can always change the wheels if you decide to.

Assume it is an automatic, you don't say. If so, drive it and decide if it shifts OK for you. Some owners haven't been happy. If it is a manual, so much the better, congratulations on finding one.

No comment on price, your local market will be different than mine.

I presume you mean X3 seeing as you posted in the X3 forum?

I suggest finding one that is CPO.

I agree 100% but around here the sport option seems like the holy grail and anything, E83, E53 or E70, without it is seen as some sort of leper.

On the E83 I wouldn't touch the sport option, I found it very harsh and I think that the standard suspension is already sportier than any sport option on the X5.

I like sport suspensions on vehicles that can benefit from them, my Z4 and 535 with the M Sport both handle better than regular versions. I just figure that if you want to go around corners fast, starting with an X5 platform probably isn't the wisest decision. Going up in tire size for looks is fine, but that doesn't require sport suspension.

Yes, sorry. X3. I did test drive it and it didn't seem to shift too well. I then went and test drove another 2007 at a different dealer and it shifted great. I read about the shift issues on 2007s, but haven't confirmed that either one has had the reprogramming done.
