Abnormal leather seat wear?

We have an '09 E83 with 29K. The piping in the middle of the driver's seat (not seat back) is wearing through. I plan to get the dealer replace under warranty. Our local isn't what I'd call customer-friendly (I've had bad experiences in the past, but I'll be nice). Any helpful hints?

No problems with the centre piping. Is the reflective part peeling off or is the entire piping coming loose? Unfortunately, it could be considered wear-and-tear at that point so I don't know if it would be covered.

i doubt it if it will be covered under warranty.
