Angel Eyes

Just purchased the angel eyes kit from www.jlevistreetwerks.com. I also plan on clearing the corners by painting the amber reflecter with some high temperature silver metallic paint from Eastwood. Although I don't think I need the high temp paint since I'm replacing the bulbs with LED bulbs. I guess better safe than sorry. Who knows how hot the Xenons will heat up the surroundings. Hopefully everything will get here by this weekend. Will post pictures when it's all done! :)

sounds awesome.

just a question: are you SURE that x3 headlights can be opened?? i am not sure if they are sealed the same way as the '03 and beyond X5 lights (which means that heating them won't allow one to open them)....

just curious if you've verified this, and who the source might be!

If possible, please take pics along the way. And IF you have time, maybe a possible write-up?

Yes, you can bake the headlights and take the housing apart. There are still a few things that are still sketchy at this point.

1) Do I have to remove the front bumper and headlight washer before taking out the headlights? (for e46 if you have to remove the headlight washer)
2) The amber reflector inside the headlights, is it glued on or snapped on? It would be so much easier if I can take it out to spray paint it.
3) How and where to wire the interior lights so the angel eyes will have the dimming effect when locking/un-locking the car.

We look forward to seeing this product installed! The X3 headlights sure can be opened!

For the interior lights, we find that running them to the footwells is the easiest.
