Remove door panels?
Does anybody have instructions on how to remove the interior door panels?
I've seen a few posts on it but none with detail instructions for the X3. Thanks |
pretty easy
need torx(sp?) bits to remove screws behind door lever, under arm rest, and pop off trim from door handle and undo those screws. Gently slide your 5-in-one or whatever flat bladed tool to start popping the plastic connectors all the way round the outer edge of the panel.
Take your time and be careful no to force things. I replaced the speakers upfront, so i did it twice, once to figure out what size speaker, second was install. Everything is intact, but I can see it's possible to snap something or break something you may regret. Once you get in there, it's pretty easy. Good luck! |
Thanks, I wouldn't have guessed that I needed to start around the door lever, thanks for the info.
Where is the screw under the arm rest? Is it underneath towards the back, where the round plastic cover is? I tried removing this plastic cover with a flat cooking plastic tool and it cracked and stayed in place. |
exactly
yes, the screw under the armrest is hidden up under that plastic piece. Not so bad to mess that plastic piece up cause noone sees it. I used my 5-in-one to pry it loose.
Have fun... |
