anyone remove the handbreak handle?
 
I just got an AC Schnitzer handbreak handle that I ordered from Ebay. Easy? Hard? tia

I know at least on my E46 the thing is just pulls right off with force.

That's how the X5 is as well. You have to cut a zip tie first, though.

I just did that mod. Cut the zip tie, as Jeff stated, and remove the leather cover. The actual handle comes out by your "helping it." I took a flat screwdriver and a hammer. After a couple of hits, it slides off.

As Rob told me, "they don't use vaseline when they put that thing on. You have to pretty much mangle it." (Thanks, buddy, by the way.) :thumbup:

this may be a dumb question, but where is the zip tie? is it right where the handle meets the boot?

wasnt too bad, took me about 45 minutes total, its a nice look! the hard part was installing the chrome release button, I had to dremel the stock one off and file it down so the chrome one would fit on top of it, so now I cant really go back to stock!
