Flat tire warning light stays on

My 08 X3 flat tire warning light flashed for about a minute and then stays on. I haven't changed the tire pressures and all the tires look good. According to the manual, if the light stays on then there is a malfunction with the warning light. Any ideas please?

Thanks

Gary

you mentioned that all the tires look good - but do they "measure" good? the pressure monitor is measuring the rotational speed of each tire and detects about 10% difference in circumference of the tire - so the tire may "look" good but not be "good"...

I'll check him this weekend...

Thanks

I wouldn't rely on appearances and warning lights as sufficient evidence for a properly-inflated tire. Get down on your knees and measure the tire pressures with a gauge while the tires are still cold.

All back to normal...not sure why it came in the first place. I didn't change the tire pressure...maybe a change in the weather.

Thanks for everyones help and suggestions

You didn't mention whether you actually checked the tire pressure. If you didn't, but just reset the light, then you are probably driving around with a tire below the proper pressure.

The light comes on for a reason.

Not true. You just need to set the tires to the correct pressure, then you need to reset the TPMS.

I need to argue on the "come on with a reason". I have owned my car for 2½ years and it sometimes needs a reset when I change from winter to summer tires, twice a year, but I did get the light on a few months ago during snowy weather. I checked the pressure directly and had just recently checked it. Nothing weird and after reset it has been off. I usually would agree with the "reason" part but in this case it seems to have done just that.

After many "pops up" red lights tire pressure, the dealer solved changing the module using ext. cover. Never comes on again. Reseted and checked million times before. Now running perfect.
