Where is the fuel filter on a 2006 X3?

I think on driver side under car about midway down.

The mechanic who did mine said it was in the rear and involved accessing the petrol tank. Not an easy job.

I thought that was the fuel pump that was in the tank?

Fuel filter in the tank or pump in the tank, I don't know. Before I open the tank I am going to find out. Such as life these problems,,,,,
