Current X3 and original X5 (00-06) dimensions are almost identical (interior and exterior).
I just did the same move, sold my 03 3.0i 5-speed and bought a 2013 X3 35iMsport. Love this new X3. Incredible ride. |

Has it been a "big" adjustment?
Hi Alex... Now that it's been a few months, how has it been going from your E70 X5 to your new X3? The lease on my 2011 X5 3.5d is coming up soon, and we're considering downsizing. My wife and I work volunteer with a German Shepherd rescue, so we have our two big dogs and often at least one or two more foster dogs.
From looking at the new X3's on the lot we've seen, we think we can get by, but I'm not sure. The headroom does look a bit lower, and I think we'll notice that with the dogs. But the big difference to me appears to be that the rear cargo area is quite a bit narrower. I'm wondering what it was like for you to make the adjustment to this. Any thoughts? By the way...your new SAV looks amazing. Love the color and lines! |
