Bluetooth Motorola IBUS US Bluetooth??
Hey guys,
My X5 has a telephone button on the navigation system, but I have no idea how to connect to bluetooth. A guy is selling this "Bluetooth Motorola IBUS US Bluetooth" online for $50. Is it all I need to have bluetooth? http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDUwWDgwMA...VERTS/$_27.JPG I have no idea what I'm doing. I would love bluetooth to use as a handsfree phone but I also would like to use it to stream music, if possible. Thoughts? |
you need to do more research. It's not simple and I've never been able to make it work on mine, though others have on theirs.

Early versions of these TCUs didnt support bluetooth telephone calling despite the bluetooth logo on the box. It just supported bmw assist. You need to check realoem and ensure the part number is a later version.
Also you will need to check your vehicle has phone prep. If it does then it will have a microphone in the headliner and potentially a bluetooth antenna in the center console. These should all terminate in a batch of cables in the trunk area and connect to the tcu. Check to make sure you have these. |
well this is a bummer. more effort and dollars than i have right now haha

It is quite simple if you have the phone prep. Do you have the little mouth on your steering wheel, left side? If so you just find a TCU that was built '05 or later I believe. I bought mine on eBay. I took the old one out and installed the new one. There's a code on the TCU that you need to pair your phone. Mine worked like a champ.
Sorry but no streaming music. It's phone only. Good luck:thumbup: |
