Refinishing steering wheel switch gear cover...how to remove?
 

I want to remove my 2004 X5 4.4 sport steering wheel center cover that covers the switches and three steering wheel spokes. I did a search,...found nothing. On my E90, there was a way to slide it off without removing anything other than a few screws on the back,....wondering if there is a similar procedure for the X5?

There's nothing about the e53 sport steering wheel in any of the 3 links at the top of the page (articles/how to's/FAQs)?

didn't find anything when I used the search. ( a couple of different ways)

(FYI to those that may not know: encircled numbers in the diagram represent hardware & many times have their own index within the illustration...like in this case. Then check the QTY column in the part nbr index which most times reveals the nbr of screws/bolts/etc of that type is required. In this case NINE #3 screws are used on the steering wheel) :)
