Self Leveling Suspension Inactive
Hi,
I recently noticed that while driving my 2003 4.4i there seemed to be a lot of body motion. Today the self leveling suspension inactive message came up and I pulled over to the side of the road to check the ride height of all the tires. The distance between the top of rear right side tire and the wheel well was far less than all the others. The body is practically sitting on the tire. The ride height looked fine on all of the other three tires. I turned the car off and restarted and then heard an air filling noise coming from the rear right tire area (sounded almost leaky) and the ride height of the rear right tire returned to the same as the other tires and the filling noise stopped. When I took it for a spin around the block and over some speed bumps the body motion returned. I pulled over again and the ride height of the rear right tire was very low again. I then checked the fuses in the right side of the trunk and all are intact. Does anyone know what this could be? I was reading that it may be a sensor that needs replacing or an airspring? Is it safe to drive till I replace the part? I dont hear any rubbing from the tire against the body while driving.
Thanks!
