Stereo issues
I have a 2005 x5 4.8is. With DSP.
At start you can hear all speakers playing radio for the first few seconds. Then all but the drivers door go out. On occasion when driving, all speakers will come back on for some random period of time before they go out again. Max of 5 minutes or so. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks. |
Mines the same. In here for solutions

Have you looked at the amp area after a rain to make sure the sunroof drains aren't clogged or have failed. I've read that if that happens it will take out the amp in a good number of cases.
The indy I used to work at confirmed he has seen this happen with the pano roof vehicles. |
If the amp was "taken out" due to water, would it be always dead or act sporadic like mine is?
|
It's not unlikely that moisture has corroded some connections and they could come and go for awhile, eventually they'll just be gone.
Definitely my first thought when I read this. |

Is the amp the unit with all the wires coming out of it?

It's hard to tell where that photo is.
Qsilver7 gave you a pretty good photo and diagram in your other thread. http://www.xoutpost.com/1014352-post5.html Also, remember you have more electronics (Sirius, etc.) in the spare tire compartment. |
Since all the speakers always come on for the first few seconds every time you start your X, it doesn't sound like a corroded connection. If you shut the X off just after all the speakers other than the door stop working and immediately start it back up do all the speakers again work for a few seconds?
