Thanks FRC
On the module, I read that it actually plugs into the rain sensor pigtail?!? I'm getting a little closer on the code process - I'll post if/when I have a definitive answer. I am feeling pretty certain the lights are coded out by telling the computer that the car does not have the air suspension "option" using a Scanner 1.4.0. If there is somebody near San Francisco that does that let me know!! |

If you set the coilovers to lower the stance to the point of filling the wheel wells what is the resulting ride and handling compared to stock system?

BUMP.
Anyone in the Bay Area, CA successfully do this? I called BMW Concord and Eastbay Pleasanton and no one seems to know what I'm talking about. I am basically telling them that I have the "self-leveling suspension inactive" error and need it coded it out of the VO (vehicle order) by deselecting air suspension. Seems straight forward to me but this is causing lots of confusion over the phone setting up an appointment?! :dunno: |
I was never able to get the programming done.
After disconnecting the compressor at the local wiring connector and otherwise replacing the air suspension with coil overs my ride height buttons flashed until I disconnected the switch. I occasionally get the lights on the dash, randomly about once a month. Goes off when I restart the car. Not a huge issue for me. Considering the time and $$ put into trying to diagnose air suspension issues on an older car, I wish I had of just gone this route in the first place. The suspension has proved to be "OK" over 20k miles; a little choppy and definitely not an improvement over the IS sport suspension, but totally functional. The car LOOKS a lot better as I could dial in the ride height perfectly. I'm sure if someone took the time to fool with spring rates and compression adjustments you could get it nailed down pretty good. |
