Then you are looking at a $365 AUD BM54 replacement Or a $250AUD unit swap So you could then put that money towards a modern Headunit. I was in exactly this situation. I still choose to get the BM54 Radio Module repaired and keep the vehicle stock and everything OE working as it should. Although, it did make it a harder choice to make. |
So from this conversation is it correct to conclude that there are no new head
replacements units available for my 2005 4.4? Just repair? |
There a many choices. Dynavin, AVIN, Eonon, Pumpkin, Joying, etc...

"Yep, a simple Bluetooth Module soldered into the BM53 Radio Module on the Aux input lets you stream what ever source you like." Do you still retain the functionality of the aux jack in the glove box? |
Got the Avic8100 in the Wifes Ride. It's pretty nice. Carplay which is okay in the apple ecosystem, too bad there is not waze support for Carplay on the horizon...
Had had other iterations in the cluster as well. This headunit is not a SQ unit, but it's pretty great as a all around unit. We rarely use it for Navi though. Google Maps or Waze is far superior due to Real Time Traffic/ETA - routing.. The FM/AM traffic incident free alert that the HU uses to determine NAVI is nowhere as close. |
yeah gotta have waze and v1 so i can drive 100mph+ I grew tired of the tiny iPhone screen.
