Playing with INPA today - sunroof initialization procedure was a baaaaad idea....

Haven't really played with it much before. Wow that's cool! Anyway I stumbled upon the sunroof initialization procedure.

Well I won't do that again. Sunroof went into vent-mode with a pop and I ended-up with the front and rear glass stuck open in tilt mode. The front would try and go down, but would pop itself back up. The rear didn't move at all.

A little googling and a couple YouTube videos later I've got it closed again. Lots of info out there on how to get it closed again but very little apparently on how to address the problem.....outside of buying a whole new cassette for $3000

Had anyone tried to fix theirs and rectify whatever the problem is?

I came across info on fixes for that here and elsewhere some years ago when I got my X.

It was posted by someone in Australia IIRC.

Sorry, cant point you to it, that's all I remember about it. It was one of the reasons I decided never to open my pano roof so I never had to reference back to it.

Hope someone can point you to the right direction.

Haha, I did the same thing one day on my Mini and pressed that same key. It stopped working or it would close by 1mm every time I pressed something. I can't remember what the key I pressed was but it was another test in the DIS for the closing procedure and that closed it. From there I was nervous to open it again not knowing what it would do or if it'd be stuck again but its been fine ever since.

I also tried a test on my nav and it never worked after that so I had to get a new nav computer.

Get it closed. Turn on car. Press sunroof vent button, basically point up and hold it there. Sunroof will cycle all positions and return to closed. You can then let go of button.

Yeah - in order to get it closed I had to run through that procedure. The rear was still stuck but I was able to push those lifting "ramp" things at that point. Prior to that - the lifting ramps wouldn't move at all....

If I try and re-run through the calibration procedure it ends up getting stuck again, then I need to repeat it once more to unbind the rear. Been there done that....

Right now I can open the sunroof but when I try and close it it only moves a few inches at a time, so it needs to be recalibrated. It's a spiral of a mess...

Definitely not playing with the tilt mechanism until I get it all figured out. I'll probably leave the sunroof alone all together!

Pano roof issues

I killed mine.
I pulled the fuse on mine after having the Pano Glass open on its own while driving down the hwy one morning. It took 6 attempts to get it to close tightly. Now I am stuck with the interior cover open approx 1 inch.
I never opened the thing ever other than when I detail the car.

What marketing person thought that having 5 feet of sliding glass with folding options was a good idea?

Mark me down as a pano roof hater......

There are 2 repair kits you should get installed for the front and rear of the pano roof.
