Got XM?

Turn it on, you got free music all weekend...

Grrr I don't have it on mine. Only thing I miss from my '08 GLI. Really all I listen to in the car anyway, I hate pandora commercials and streaming Sirius from my phone uses data up

Turn it on

Wait for it to reactivate

Once activated

Disconnect the power to the module for 30 days

Plug back in and you should have free XM for the rest of your life.

What type of integration are you using that this work for?

any that has a separate module.

the idea is to disable the module before it gets the disconnect signal. Usually about a month from what I've read. I had a module for nearly 10 years that worked without me paying a bill because I disconnected it when I sold the dcar it was in and didnt re-install it for nearly two years.

I accidentally figured that out on an aftermarket head unit about 9 years ago. I had it for about 4 years for free and it got found I guess.

someone on another site suggested that they periodically send out 'free weekend' promotions followed by a kill signal. Since they show the old unit as deactivated, it gets the 'free weekend' signal (even though it its transparent to you), but you get a real kill signal that you wouldnt know was coming.

I have an ancient Kenwood that has been on since 2004.

I just got the module for my Kenwood DVD NAV & between a 5 months for 20 offer & 3 months from the module it will be on for 8 months for 60 (including the cost of the module)
