A/C evaporator temperature sensor R&R

I've located the sensor on the left side of the passenger footwell, behind the carpeted panel.

I can't get the sensor all the way out due to an obstruction. Do I need to remove the center console?

Nope, removing the center console didn't help...I still couldn't get to the sensor. I just had to use some force to get the sensor out, and thankfully the new one went in fairly easily.

Now my alarm goes off constantly and I'm thinking it has to do with all of the wires I fussed with when removing the console. Time for some searching...

There is a tilt sensor near/under the glovebox. This thread has a good map of where the various modules and sensors are.

Thanks David.X5 for the link. I did some searching around and found that the hood switch is usually the culprit with alarm issues, so I unhooked the switch and the problem is solved. The timing had me thinking it was related to the center console, but it was coincidental.

Now that my transmission has started slipping I will be looking back wistfully at these small problems...

Do your ac wasn't working and you replaced this sensor. And now it is???

Nope, it still freezes up. It works, but if run continuously it still freezes.
