The pic of me in pilot seat was taken before the sequence of the nose coming down on the C5. We were standing around outside the AN124 and walking around the landing gear being mesmerized by the odd straight inline arrangement of the wheels and the odd fact we could walk right up and touch them and look up into the wheel well attempting to translate the Russian. As we were under the 124 we hear a crazy loud humming emitted from the C5 like it had some electric motor for driving slowly or something. It went on for a good solid minute with no change we observed then suddenly it becomes apparent we can see a whole lot more wheel. The C5 can raise and lower the gear about 18" to make loading easier. Once I figured out the plane was rising up I pulled out the camera just in time to capture the door closing. I'm sure I have the fully closed shot just didn't find it the other day. The bin with the photos is about 20x14x18 it was a miracle I found those! Enjoy. Sent from my awrPhone using Tapatalk |
