Hello, All!
This is my first post...though I have been lurking since I bought my first X5 4 months ago. The second X5 joined the family a couple of weeks ago, and is the subject of this post. This vehicle lives in Arizona, but was originally sold without the pusher fan. Needless to say, I felt it should have one since it will be 110 degrees out for the next few months. Long story short...after a battle, it is installed. This required trimming the bottom edge of the pusher shroud by an inch or so, as the cooler protrudes into it. I have pics if interested. Now, the catch! There is no wiring in place to make the fan functional. I assumed it would be there, much like the CD changer wiring. I'm not sure what to do. I'm NOT a fan of cutting into the original wiring. Any thoughts? :dunno::dunno::dunno: |

On the N62 they went with a heavy duty dual purpose fan. And on pre 04 models the pusher fan was mechanical.
Even with warmer temps in your area the installed fan should suffice and if the temp needle goes beyond mid point there might be something wrong with the cooling system. |

Thank you for the response. All other systems are good. My issue is the A/C in traffic. I need to move more air across the condenser to keep the air cold when it is 115 here. I did evac and recharge the a/c with dye when I brought her home(mostly because I can, but also to be SURE). Air is COLD while moving, just not at a stop light or crawling on the freeway. |
