Constant blown circuits after battery Replacement.
Dear X Heads,
I own a 2003 e53 X5 that was well maintained with low miles. 106K. I recently changed the batter now a chain of events have developed soon after. Headlights blown 2x, AC AUx Fan motor blown, Brake Lights blown and just recently my AC Fan stopped working. Im beyond frustrated. Im a diyfer and have gotten my hands dirty already. But can someone please tell me what it can be? Thanks in advanced. RUddy |
Sounds like your alternator/voltage regulator is bad and caused the battery to go bad and these could cause the lights, and other stuff of go bad as well. Check the battery voltage with the car running and rev'd up bad 3000 RPM. If it's higher than 14.4 Volts you have a problem.

I am not sure if they are integrated on your car. The V8 engine and the I6 engines use different alternators. Most of the time when you buy an alternator it comes with integrated voltage regulator.
