E53 Exhaust database thread
 

A few weeks ago a member made a suspension database thread here for the e53's, lets have one for exhausts...

Please post info as it is in my post, at minimum must have video soundclips, pictures underneath are a plus if you have them.

Year: 2006

Model/Engine: 4.8is

Setup: X-pipe in place of resonator, no mufflers, custom tips.

I so freakin envy you - here in Germany you'll be killed for that exhaust. I had even quieter one on my M5 and got towed by police, just because of the noise. 350 Euro for towing + 1400 ticket, was the result of all that fun. Even my exhaust was certified by TUV. Crazy.

Here's the exhaust of my X5 as it was registered in Russia decatted and with deleted resonator, now in Germany it has fuly stock exhaust.

Its not exactly "legal" here in a sense. If im cruising around it has a nice grumble, but 2.5k rpm+ is loud as hell...

Area has something to do with it as well... Around me the cops leave you alone if its an expensive car even with mods (suburbs), more so target the tuner cars and younger crowd, they probably dont think im 21 in this though...

Im out often very late at night and if there is a cop near me or behind me I dont even go past 1.5k Rpm LOL. At night you can really hear the noise it makes versus during the day with other traffic around.

Wow your x5 definitely is loud. I just finished installing the Eisenmann Race on my 4.6is and it definitely sounds authoritative but nothing that is going to get me a ticket.

Wow Nick, who would have thought "ze Germans" would be so anti-performance sounding vehicles, TUV certified as well. Thats messed up


EDIT: Now that I think about it, they need some way to pay for all the nationalized systems and government programs, I guess regulating and ticketing more vehicles makes sense
