E53 Sport Suspension Shocks OEM Part?
 

Hi,

I have a 2005 E53 X5 3.0D with the sports suspension. I need to replace the shocks and am having a little issue finding the right parts.

On realoem part number is:
- Front Right: 31316764602
- Front Left: 31316764601
- Rear: 33506751544

Now I went to my local suspension wholesaler and he said that I can use either:
- Sachs Super Touring; or
- Bilstien B6 Sports

He said that the Sachs should have been what BMW used. With a little research I found some people commenting that the Sachs Super Touring (blue version) are for standard suspension and the (red version) are for Sport Suspension.

Now I am a little confused as to what they mean by red and blue versions. Are there 2 versions of the Super Touring or are they referring to Super Touring and Advantage models? Further more to this confusion the shocks I purchased have a red texter mark on the part number area (see attached image). So am really confused.

I don't want to put these shocks in if they are not going to give me the same or similar performance as standard sport suspension.
