How long does it last, and how many miles will you be putting on? You're at a nice, low mileage right now, I'd almost be afraid the warranty might run out before you hit some of the bigger ticket items that would make it worth it...

He's got 5 years and 100K on it, which he should *need* something....

FWIW, I got a warranty on my brand new X when the 4 was up.
I think I paid around 3400-3700.
Regardless, I used up at least 11K in repairs during the warranty.
It paid off for me, but like insc., it's a gamble.

Depends how well the adjuster/appraiser handles each claim as well...

He said only 50K. I think you're mentally confusing this with the Maryland thread where he picked up a black 4.6 with 110K.

I meant he has 50 on it now, his allowence ontop is 50, which would bring him to 100

Got it. I must've missed that post first time through. Should find some "needs" by then.

Well that's decently comprehensive, and 2k isn't a ton of money. It's a gamble. How is the companies reputation?

They rate high and are the preferred warranty company for KBB.

I have a second quote coming in from another company with a shorter term, but no limit on cost.
It is a 4 year 48k mile warranty for the same price.
This one covers suspension.
Because the mileage was so low on the car, they were able to offer the dealer extended warranty coverage with no deductibles.

So now would you take an additional 48k miles for 4 years, but more $ available for repairs, OR

5 year and 100k miles with a $ limit on repair work.

I like the 5 years, the mileage is probably irrelevant.

I'll have to brief the exclusions but some of the more common big ticket items seems excluded off the list...

My exclusion list was pretty straightforward. I believe electrical wiring and such was not covered. Everything else covered..

Hmm. The 100k is nice, but one repair will come very close to hitting the limit. For example, I think a dealer charges ~$700 for a window regulator job?

How much do you drive? I'd lean towards the 4 year 48k +suspension and no limit simply because of how quickly a single repair will eat up that budget.
