Aitbag TSB issue resolved.

If you are in the DC area and have the airbag TSB issue. I highly recommend BMW of Alexandria. They got me in and out in the same day plus gave me a shuttle ride and $10 metro pass so I could get around while the X5 was being worked on.

What did you have done? If you are referring to the recall then there is no current fix.

Ah the airbag sensor.

Too bad, the Diesel debacle is consuming the news cycle. It will prob be another 4 years before my exploding Takata airbag (12 years old and counting) is taken care of .

TiAgX5 09-29-2015 01:01 PM

Don't hold your breath RB.

Seems SEVEN move vehicle manufacturers are being added to the defective Takata bag recall.

Ricky Bobby 09-29-2015 01:04 PM

^Oh I'm not holding my breath at all. The X will be rusted out in a scrap yard before it ever gets done.

Diesel is the hotness of the week, airbags are so boring.

TiAgX5 09-29-2015 01:14 PM

I would think BMWs that have spent their entire life in high temp/humidity regions will be corrected first.

My X has been in FL & TX for over 12yrs, I think that would make it a high priority vehicle for BMW corrective action.

Don't you think it is kind of funny that the airbag issue, which shakes the safety industry to its core, is conviently being pushed aside for this new diesel scandel?

Ricky Bobby 09-29-2015 01:52 PM

^Oh yes I do, hilarious actually. Friggin Takata can't figure out how to make an airbag with years of open recall, VW better patch the software on the diesels so they don't piss the hippies off, within 15 days.

Heads are literally exploding, but its those damn corporate cheaters and their skirting around of climate change when the Pope was in town, to blame at the moment.
