20mm spacers for rear 17" stock rims?
 

don't really like the look of my rear rims...
thought maybe put some 20mm spacers there?

have someone experience with this?

p.s. this is i don't like, see the rear as i don't have wheels there?)

I would at least do 20mm in the rears if I was still running 17s. But if you go 25mm or more, you can get the H&R DRM type spacers, which do NOT require longer bolts

Yes you will want to do the H&R DRM that are 25mm and will adjust the rear look of your vehicle just fine. These spacers are hub centric and they will make use of your OEM lug studs to affix your wheels.

got 20mm on mine, i have e39 wheels wich are a 20mm offset, so I effectively have a 0 offset all around.

With 17s you need a rear 30mm minimum and that may not make it even flush with the panel..

On 4.8is 30mm's dont quite do it either but we have the flares yet to become flush with. Height of car will also affect it because the lower you are the more the wheels naturally will camber in at the top.

My rears are flush with the black flares that stick put but im running a different setup now that most people wouldnt do if they knew lol.

If your tires are flush with the flares, would it rub against it when your suspension bottom or near bottom out? I thought you need some clearance in order for the tires to tuck in under the flares?

At the height im currently at I dont have an issue. The beauty of the e53 is the way the fender flare on a non IS model and even with the one over top how it is on an IS model, is plastic and the metal edge is higher, versus how it would be on a normal sedan you have metal right away.

Mine has rounded/ate away what is needed in terms of suspension travel- pretty much the top edge of the tire 3-4 inches across on the plastic from the inside, and after that since the wheel cambers more and more as it is compressed, the rest of the wheel well is very deep immediately after that.

This is fitment in front, as you can see the top level is tilted, the edge of the wheel slighty pokes out past flare but tire does not, i also have front lemans flares not the flat ones.

Yes, i know my rear tires are bald. I ran them for 15-20k since new, they are directionals, so when i got my new wheels i had the rears flip mounted and good edge on the inside..

Im also very lowered and -2.5 camber on each side but my toe is zeroed out. Buying tires before winter hits however i cannot complain, with very aggressive driving i have about 35k on them. They are at about 1.5-2/32 at the moment.

the H&R spacers are way to expensive for me, as they cost almost a monthly salary where i live + this maker is nowhere to be found here.

so 20mm is too little, i must look into 25mm?

okay, found locally a 20mm set from aluminum (second hand, were installed on an E60).
will try see them.

Are E60 hubs compatible with E53 X5. You do want to make sure that spacers are hubcentric.
