hid (xenon weird issue)solved
my hid on the left is working normally (nice bright white light), but the 1 on the right has a purplish tinge to it,I assume its the hid bulb getting weak ,correct me if I`m wrong.
Has anyone had this issue with their hids?if so what was the problem? |
Its time to replace it.
I always replace both of them when one is showing signs of giving up. |
when purple its on its last legs. Replace the pair
Get a new OEM genuine pair of D2S from here - HIDbulbsRus | Home He now sells Osram bulbs as well as Philips |
k cool ,I ordered a pair off ebay(52.00can)went with the factory 4300 though(I don`t like change). they look straight forward to do.
I didn`t know if a ballast would cause this issue or not, I suspect with a ballast if it went there would be no power going to the hid at all. I went to part source and they wanted 100.00can for just 1. |

He is saying because of the purple tinge it looks like the aftermarket 12000K rice bulbs that are pink lol
And yes its not a ballast, if it was you wouldn't get enough power to strike the bulbs on. Fading to pink is a dying bulb, it doesnt die like an incandescent |
^ I don`t like those purple rice bulbs as you call it. lol.
well thats good to know its not the ballast. |
put my hid`s in yesterday, all is good , replaced them as a pair, 15 min job tops super easy to install. probably would have been quicker if I could see where the bottom torx screw goes . for the housing unit.

I'm sure you will appreciate the new light and being able to see again :)
