Rear electric window gremlin

Hello
Sometimes will wind down sometimes not, doesn’t matter if I try the button on the actual door panel, or the button on the drivers side panel, and I do not get the usual noises associated with the plastic on carrier breaking…..or the cable on the winding mechanism snagging ….all I can say it is the least used window…..if the motor were to go would it not stay dead? ….just curious if there is a separate fuse for each doors windows?

i had the same problem on my X5. I took the door panel apart and disconnected the motor from the window regulator. the motor will roll up, but not down. I tried using a new motor, same results. i tried using a new switch, same results. the weird thing is sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm beginning to think it has something to do with the GM5 module itself. it only effects the rear drivers side window.

i also hear a "clicking" in the fuse panel in the glove-box every time I use the switch so it is not a fuse.

let me know if you figure it out. i haven't bothered to investigate further as I rarely use the rear windows.

I'm having the same intermittent problem, it goes away when I turn off the car and it goes to sleep. When I restart it works.
The following thread offers a possible solution, I have not looked into it yet.
" Rear Window will roll up but not down. I'm stumped."

I had this exact problem in my x3 issue was water getting into my door harness and inturupting the can signal. I was also losing power mirrors and child locks. Check your harness for water or corrosion

Or if one of the plastic clip is broke, this creates a skewed (crooked) condition the motor has to work much harder to push the glass up.
