Slow clock

Battery is nearly new, yet I lose a few minutes each week.
The clock is a few minutes slow, is there a fix for that?

Our '01 does not get driven every day; may sit for a week.

Battery is less than year old and Batt Tender connected frequently...the clock has always lost a minute or two, depending on non-drive sitting time, since Day One 14+ year ago.
I don't lose a 'few minutes', though...

Dunno of any fix. I just reset the mins, bumping them up a couple, but only because I am an OCD ol' geezer.

Mine is the same way even when it was daily driven. I believed it's a characteristic and/or tolerance of the crystal used for it's "RealTimeClock (RTC)" and has nothing to do with the battery level since it requires very little power to keep it running.

dkl, I didn't think it was any batt/volt drain issue either.
Our clock has done it forever. Just another BMW FAB. ;)

I thought I was the only one.

Supposedly I read somewhere, that you can have it sync with GPS. Have never been able to find this in coding options though.

:D When it comes to glitches on these cars, I suspect none of us have or have had an anomaly, or a 'lucky' one off.

I have not noticed mine being off

Mine has always figured out the time and date by itself. But i have to admit that i have no idea if it gets the info via the GPS, or from the radios TMC function.

My old E39 however, lost about a minute a week. And it was driving me crazy.

Edit:
Come to think about it, it must be via the GPS. Because i have to manually adjust the clock for daylight savings time, which surely wouldn't be the case if the info came via TMC from local radio stations.

Yes,
I can drive to Lubbock and get there before I leave.
Of course, the drive home takes for ever
